About
Howdy.
This is the personal website for Paul Schuh — if you clicked here, you’re probably bored and don’t have anything better to do… in any event, in the hope that you may find this at least mildly entertaining, I will attempt to give to at least a few facts that will hopefully let you get to know me a bit better.
I currently work as a Network Administrator for the Cornell University School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Basically, my work involves keeping routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and computing labs up and running in support of the school’s research and educational mission. Occasionally, I will develop in-house applications for process automation — usually using the LAMP platform for development.
In my free time, I enjoy sailing, playing bass guitar in a band, and experimenting/learning how to use Apple Final Cut Studio (Final Cut, Motion, and DVD Studio Pro), Logic Pro 8, Ableton Live, and Reason. If I’m not doing it, I’m reading about it.
As for television — I enjoy a few of the HBO and Showtime series — Dexter and The Wire in particular (now that Sopranos is finished); and a selection of Reality TV shows — American Idol, Amazing Race, Survivor, Top Chef, and Hell’s Kitchen. Other shows I might be inclined to sit and watch include 30 Rock, 2.5 Men, Bones, Big Bang Theory, Angel, Buffy, Firefly (actually… anything from Joss Whedon), Star Trek: TOS. A few shows I can’t stand include CSI: MIAMI and Star Trek: Voyager. I generally am too busy to watch the shows when they come on, so I’ll get caught up periodically through the miracle of Tivo. Most recently, I’ve started watching the Sarah Connor Chronicles and it shows promise.
To date, my favorite movie of all time is Shawshank Redemption.
